Something Special

The holiday season is fast approaching. It is one of my favorite times of the year and I look forward to sharing the season  with you and the rest of my family and friends. Everybody is busily working on their wish list for holiday gifts and we here at IFPCC have  been thinking about ours, too.

So, instead of buying a present for us this year, I hope you will consider making a contribution to help families in need.  But a donation to help get a child, teen, mom, dad, and/or their pets something to open would mean the world to us. Imagine how good you will feel knowing YOU helped give a family a chance to  give there children a wonderful Thanksgiving dinner and knowing that the help YOU gave enabled us to give more gifts to families worried about how they are going to have a Christmas.

The holiday season is traditionally a time for giving. This year, as you review all of the many requests you receive, I hope you will consider giving a gift that will make a difference for these families and pets. Please bring, send in, or call for pick up of donations. We will be taking offerings for food for the Holidays,  gifts to be handed out to different age ranges, and also unwanted items that you may have around your home that we may be able to put into our yard sale to raise money for medical and other needs. Also be sure to ask friends and neighbors, they just may have something that could help.

Items will first be looked at to see if any of the families on our list could  use them before they get sold. If you know of any families that we may be able to assist this season please let us know and we will make sure they get help.

We are ALWAYS taking donations of pet food (Dog-Puppy, Cat-Kitten, Bird), pet beds, gift certificates to pet stores, blankets and of course TOYS, TOYS, TOYS.

To help contribute toward their immediate medical and/or shelter needs of these pets please set up a donation today.

Your donation makes a real difference.

FURNITURE/HOUSEHOLD GOODS DONATIONS: HELP NEEDY FAMILIES

Furniture donation is especially critical for low income families who are forced to make difficult choices between buying food, furniture, prescription drugs, childrens clothes, or school supplies.

If you have furniture or household items that no longer fit your lifestyle, but are still usable, there are literally millions of people who could use your furniture donation.

When you donate furniture and household items, they not only get a second chance, they can also give the recipients a feeling of security, comfort, and home. Your furniture donation, for example, can help formerly homeless people who are transitioning to housing, the working poor who don't have enough income left over after paying for necessities, elderly people on fixed incomes, abused women who leave their situation and seek new shelter, families who have lost possessions or their homes to fire or other disasters, struggling college students, refugees from war-torn countries who resettle in the United States, and people who have lost their jobs.

Your sofa donation may mean a child does not have to sleep on the floor; a kitchen table and chairs may mean a family can eat together; a desk gives a child a place to do homework; a blender means an elderly person can better prepare meals. Your furniture donation is not only good for people; donated furniture also stays out of our overflowing landfills. Learn how you can make a difference with your furniture donation today.

Some organizations will pick up donated furniture and household items, while others ask you to drop them off. It may be inconvenient or even impossible for you to transport your donated furniture (not everyone has an appropriate vehicle or the help necessary to move such items), and it is also true that some worthy organizations do not always have the extra funds and/or volunteer power to make pickups. If you want to donate furniture to IFPCC please call and we WILL do our very best to arrange or schedule a pick up of your donation.

You may want to ask family members, friends, neighbors, or coworkers as well. Perhaps they will have furniture or household goods to donate!

By helping children and families living in such extreme poverty caused by disaster or homelessness we can enable them to experience the fullness of life God offers.

Gypsy

In the beginning of 2008, IFPCC established the Gypsy Fund. Named after a tiny feral kitten that we found abandoned by her parents. When Gypsy was discovered trapped inside an interior wall of a house, the owners allowed us to cut a hole in the wall and her wonderful life was saved!. The Gypsy Fund has enabled us to rescue and rehabilitate several severely injured or abandoned cats.  The Gypsy Fund has been made possible by the generous help of our donors. Please consider making a tax-deductible donation to the Gypsy Fund!  Call if you would like to arrange for a training to become a Certified Animal Chaplain, or if you would like to register your home to be a rescue home for an animal!

Denver

When our original mascot -Denver- died after 18 1/2 years of faithful service to abused and abandoned children, we established  the Denver Fund for dogs to help families with their sick or Injured dogs. You have seen his picture (sleeping peacefully) in Chapter 10, page 21 of our Advanced Chaplaincy Training Manual.  When the IFPCC family found out he passed away, the outpouring of love and sharing of similar stories, inspired us to establish the Denver Fund. Our Certified Animal Chaplains want to make sure that other families would have an opportunity to get the food, comfort, shelter and/or medical help they needed for their family's best friend and protector. The Denver Fund has also been made possible by the generous help of our donors. Please consider making a tax-deductible donation to the Denver Fund today!  Call if you would like to arrange for a training to become a Certified Animal Chaplain, or if you would like to register your home to be a rescue home for an animal!
